GABRIELLE APPLEBAUM – ACUPUNCTURIST & OWNER
Our acupuncturist, Gabrielle, will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that incorporates Acupuncture and the related practices of Moxabustion, Gua-sha and Cupping, to assist your body in healing itself. She specializes in helping her patients manage chronic and acute pain, reduce stress and high blood pressure, and overcome infertility issues.
Gabrielle trained in Chinese Medicine at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Glenside, PA (M.Ac., L.Ac., Dipl.Ac.), and is Nationally Board Certified (NCCAOM). She is also a graduate of the University of Chicago (BA) and Harvard Divinity School (MTS). Acupuncture uses the natural, vital, inherent energy in all living things in helping the body to heal itself. Another total mind, body and spirit therapy available at our spa!
DREW KAISER – MASSAGE THERAPIST & SPA SUPERVISOR
Drew has been learning and working with the body for over 15 years, first as a professional contemporary dancer and now as a massage therapist. Drew began his body work career by learning Thai Massage, a traditional form of massage that incorporates movement and stretching, at Woven Body Healing Arts in Richmond, VA. He continued his massage therapy training at Cortiva Institute in King of Prussia, PA, where he learned additional modalities such as Trigger Point therapy, Myofascial Massage and Muscle Energy techniques. During his sessions, Drew aims to strike a balance between using corrective techniques to address muscular discomfort and creating a healing, nurturing environment where the body can relax into receiving the work. MONIQUE FLECK – ESTHETICIAN
Monique has been mastering her esthetician skills since 2002. She has a great passion for skincare, particularly helping clients with problematic skin. Her clients are recompensed with glowing skin, clear pores and a sense of inner peace. Monique is always expanding her skills, most recently completing her credentials for Reiki Level 1 Training. She is a graduate of the Jean Madeline Aveda Institute in Philadelphia.
When she is not at Fabriq Spa, newly married Monique can be found chasing her young children around Mount Airy. She loves traveling, practicing yoga, and feeding her sweet tooth! She is our in-house restaurant expert, so do not hesitate to ask her for recommendations to Philly’s best eateries!
SELENA STARBARD – ESTHETICIAN
Selena Starbard received her licensure in Skin Care from the Rizzieri Aveda School in 2012, and holds licenses in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Selena is certified in microdermabrasion, advanced waxing, various types of peels, and lymphatic drainage. She is also an accomplished makeup artist. Selena recently completed a five week course on Medical Esthetics to delve further into the science of dermatology. She shares her passion for holistic skin care with each of her clients, and seeks to continuously expand her knowledge of the field.
CATHERINE DUGGAN – ACUPUNCTURIST
Catherine Duggan is a licensed acupuncturist who has practiced in the greater Philadelphia area since 2003. Her own profound healing experiences with acupuncture led her to study this ancient medicine.
Catherine’s goal is to support her patients during the healing process, helping to restore them to optimal health. To do so, she looks beyond symptoms to discover underlying root causes. Catherine utilizes different traditions and styles of acupuncture to achieve this goal. She has experience treating women’s health issues, infertility, anxiety disorders, depression, facial rejuvenation, orthopedic injuries and pain management.
Catherine received her undergraduate degree at Temple University with a B.A. in physical anthropology and human biology. She has a Masters Degree from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Maryland, a Diplomate in Acupuncture from the NCCAOM, and post-graduate certification in animal acupuncture. JACKIE CASSEL – MASSAGE THERAPIST
In addition to her ten years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist, Jackie is a trained artist and social change activist. A native Philadelphian and world traveler, Jackie’s philanthropic work since the age of fifteen led her to a career in massage therapy. Jackie’s massage practice integrates personalized intention, quality touch and intuition, and relates to her clients in partnership. She brings to Fabriq Spa a skilled technical knowledge of Swedish, Craniosacral, Myofacial, Shiatsu and Reiki bodywork.
Jackie appreciates working with talented colleagues and using organic products in a calm, unpretentious setting. When not playing with her spoiled tuxedo cat, Jackie enjoys international cuisine, performance art, kickboxing, biking, Bikram yoga. ANA FIGUEIREDO – MASSAGE THERAPIST
Born in Angola, Ana Figueiredo started studying holism in 1998. While studying and living in Europe she expanded her knowledge of yoga, and acquired her extensive skills and experience in various alternative therapies. Ana is a multidisciplinary therapist, who delivers targeted treatments with a balance of Eastern and Western techniques, maintaining an emphasis on thai and Ayurvedic principles.
Ana’s facility for language (she speaks 5!) enables her to work with an international clientele and to learn from a diversity of instructors. Ana has a unique ability to foster a comfortable environment that encourages both mental and physical well being.
SANDRA EMMANOUILIDES – Licensed Aesthetician
Sandra Emmanouilides is a Certified Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioner™, Licensed Aesthetician, and Certified Integrative Nutrition® Health Coach. She’s the Co-founder and Director of Communications of the Nutritional Aesthetics™ Alliance, a professional organization passionately advancing an integrative approach to healthy skin; and is the founder of Skin Talks Speaker Series, a lecture and discussion platform where beauty and spa professionals learn from pioneers in the natural beauty and wellness professions.
She hopes to inspire others to integrate Nutritional Aesthetics™ and the healing arts into their practices and lives.
Sandra received her health coaching education from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition®, her Aesthetics education from Jean Madeline Aveda Institute, and her BA in Film and Media from Temple University. While studying to become a documentary filmmaker, she became inspired to make films about Alternative Medicine. Highlights include co-producing an award-winning training video for Milady Publishing, and work on ‘A Makeover Story’, a reality show for The Discovery Channel.

CHANDLER PRICE – FRONT DESK & SOCIAL MEDIA LIAISON
Chandler loves welcoming the clients of Fabriq Spa. She is a trained actress and vocalist who honors herself and those around her through yoga and meditation. Chandler loves spreading good vibes, spending time with her cat Jade, and going out to eat with her boyfriend Will.
LYDIA MANDELL – MASSAGE THERAPIST
Lydia Mandell is certified in all levels of Thai Massage through the Lotus Palm School in Montreal, Canada. Her studies continued with Bill Harvey in Cranio-Sacral Therapy at Hidden River Centre in Philadelphia, then at the Philadelphia School of Massage & Bodywork. Lydia also studied Swedish Massage, Shiatsu, Pre-Natal, Sports Massage, and Myofascial Release with the incomparable Theresa Tobin-Macy. It is Lydia’s desire to help and serve others that brought her to practice therapeutic massage, inspired by her late father, Herb. Her study of treatments for connective tissue -the fascia- is an ongoing and evolving inquiry, because as Lydia puts it, “when it comes down to it, the issue is in the tissue.”
