Drew (they/them) started working as a massage therapist for Fabriq Spa when it opened in 2013. They began working at the front desk, and eventually became the Spa Supervisor. Last year, Drew became the owner of Fabriq Spa. They aim to create a space that is welcoming and relaxing, where people can escape the hectic pace of the city and enter into a healing environment for massage, skincare, or acupuncture.
Drew has been learning and working with the body for over 15 years, first as a professional contemporary dancer and now as a massage therapist. Drew began their body work career by learning Thai Massage, a traditional form of massage that incorporates movement and stretching, at Woven Body Healing Arts in Richmond, VA. They continued their massage therapy training at Cortiva Institute in King of Prussia, PA, where they learned additional modalities such as Trigger Point therapy, Myofascial Massage and Muscle Energy techniques. During their sessions, Drew aims to strike a balance between using corrective techniques to address muscular discomfort and creating a healing, nurturing environment where the body can relax into receiving the work.
Drew is not currently providing massage so that they can focus on running the business, but they hope to add that back soon.
“Wow! I’ve been a client for 3 years now, how time flies! Since I started with Drew at Fabriq, I’ve never looked elsewhere for massage. The spa itself lends to the relaxation and only enhances the already excellent skills of the massage therapist Drew. If they would just let me sleep there after the massage, it would really be heaven. Highly recommended!”
