Enjoy these recipes to ease your hangover pangs for a healthy start to 2014!
A HANGOVER ELIXIR
16oz coconut water
1 tbsp raw honey
1 tsp green tea matcha powder
1/2 tsp freshly grated ginger
1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Coconut water to hydrate body and restore electrolytes. Fresh ginger to ease nausea and soothe upset stomach. Vitamin C rich matcha to support the liver and aid in breaking down alcohol present in the body. Honey to restore your fructose levels. Lemon for its cleansing detox powers and hydration. Blend all ingredients and pour over ice or drink room temperature.
HONEY ENZYME MATCHA MASK
1 tbsp raw honey
1/4 tsp green tea matcha
This is a hydrating, detoxifying and anti-aging mask. Mix honey and matcha and apply to face and neck. Leave on for 10-20 minutes. Hangover headache still lingering? Relax on the sofa and enjoy your mask with some chilled cucumber slices over your eyes. After rinsing, massage a small amount of coconut oil into skin. If you don’t have any coconut oil handy, apply your favorite moisturizer instead.
